A new medical office, Health Choices, has opened at 1070 Broadway in Hamilton, Ill. Dr. Suzanne Alt has a varied background in medicine, and is a family practice doctor with a belief in alternative medicine who said, “I help the body heal itself.” But that doesn’t tell the whole story. She is also skilled in osteopathic manipulation, cranial/spinal manipulation, prolotherapy (joint injections to build connective tissue and reduce pain), and the use of bioidentical hormones, and, after a person is a bonafide family practice patient of hers, is able to consider prescribing medical marijuana with the appropriate diagnoses as approved by the State of Illinois for Illinois residents.

Dr. Alt’s credentials are remarkable and show her extensive background in various fields of medicine. Raised in Kirksville, she attended the University of Missouri at Columbia where she “played basketball for Mizzou” and earned a bachelor of science in physical education and health science. She played professional basketball for a year in the newly formed Women’s Basketball League and was an assistant basketball coach at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.
