Dollhouse Dream

Getting to run the toy store must be every child’s dream, even for Megan Derr, left, the young adult child of Dollhouse Dreams owner Brenda Derr. Megan will take over as manager of store, especially the ice cream/sandwich parlor portion. Brenda will have more time to run her Shug’s Tiny Town & Educational Toys store in Burlington.

Megan Derr has been to Israel, Alaska and northern California.

But it doesn’t beat hometown Fort Madison and she’s glad to be back helping her mother, Brenda Derr, manage the Dollhouse Dreams store downtown at 820 Ave. G.

Megan is a 2017 graduate of Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa where she earned a degree in culinary arts. She did internships overseas and in the far west portions of the continental United States.
