Larry J. Perrotto

Chairman since the company’s inception in 1996. Mr. Perrotto has been involved in all phases of the industry for more than thirty years. First as a principal in a privately held group of 33 daily and weekly newspapers and from 1987 to 1996 as President and Chief Executive Officer of American Publishing Company and as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chicago Sun Times Company from 1994 to 1996. During this period, American Publishing grew to become one of the major publishing entities in the United States. The company expanded, under Mr. Perrotto’s direction, in less than a decade from the original small group of 33 publications to 486 publications including the Chicago Sun Times and the Jerusalem Post in Israel. American Publishing Company became a public company in 1994.

John H. Satterwhite

Vice Chairman since 2001. Mr. Satterwhite has deep roots in the newspaper publishing industry succeeding his father as the second generation to publish the Bradford Era, Bradford, Pennsylvania. He is also president of Bradford Publishing Company which, in addition to the Bradford Era, owns and operates the Olean Times Herald, Olean, New York, and the Salamanca Press, Salamanca, New York. Mr. Satterwhite was also a group executive and vice president and a director of American Publishing Company from 1986 to 2001.

Mark J. Perrotto

President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Community Media Group Management Services, Mr. Perrotto owned and operated daily and weekly newspapers located in Iowa, Illinois and Indiana. He was a member of the senior management group at the Evening Leader, St. Marys, Ohio, from 1982 to 1987 where he developed a major printing division. He served as publisher of the Evening Leader and as a Regional group executive for American Publishing Company in Indiana and Ohio, supervising the company’s publications in those states from 1988 to 1994. Mr Perrotto began his newspaper career at the family's daily in West Frankfort, Illinois, in 1970. During his college years he worked at the Scripps Journal Courier in Evansville, Indiana, and the Princeton Clarion.

John D. Perrotto

Executive Vice President and Director of Manufacturing. Prior to joining CMG, Mr. Perrotto was manager of New Technology at Mitsubishi Chemical Company’s Western Lithoplate division, St. Louis, Missouri, from 1995 to 2001. Among the major newspaper production facilities served by Mr. Perrotto during this period were the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, the Sydney Morning Herald in Australia, and Pravda in Moscow. From 1992 to 1995, he served as Corporate Training Manager and Production Manager for commercial printing facilities owned by Century Graphics Corporation in Winchester, Virginia and Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. Perrotto holds a BS in Newspaper Operations Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Paul M. Barrett

Vice President. A native of Mississippi, Barrett grew up in the Memphis, Tennessee area, and graduated from Arkansas State University, the University of Arkansas and later completed professional advancement at Kellogg School of Media Management at Northwestern University. Barrett began his publishing career in Dallas with Royal Publishing, a regional magazine publishing house. He has published newspapers for Thomson Newspapers, American Publishing Company, Community Newspaper Holdings and Community Media Group. He also owned two weekly newspapers in South Mississippi. After 10 years as Publisher of the Finger Lakes Times in Geneva, New York, Barrett retired in 2019. However, he continued to serve as President of the Finger Lakes Group and worked at various corporate assignments from his Geneva office. He became involved in CMG's acquisition of the News-Gazette in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, and was named Publisher and Executive Vice President in 2019. He currently serves in that role.

Patric M. Patterson

Vice President. Mr. Patterson’s newspaper career has a long history based in press operations, production and advertising sales. Prior to joining Community Media Group, he was a publisher with American Publishing in Salamanca, New York. He spent nearly 20 years based in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, as a senior group publisher for GateHouse Media, overseeing sites in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and New York. He is regional publisher of the New York-Pennsylvania group that includes the Courier-Express in Dubois, Pennsylvania, and the Finger Lakes Times in Geneva, New York, among others.

Kristen Biggerstaff

Vice President. Mrs. Biggerstaff joined Community Media Group in 2006 after being the external auditor at Kerber, Eck & Braeckel LLP out of Carbondale, Illinois. She served under Ricki Williams as the Vice President of Accounting, Director of CMGMS. During that time, she consolidated accounting, advertising and circulation data throughout the company as Community Media Group continued to grow. Mrs. Biggerstaff holds a BS in Accounting from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She serves as Secretary of the Board.

Zach Payer

Vice President of Digital Operations. Mr. Payer joined Community Media Group Management Services in 2013. He is a third-generation media professional with more than 25 years of experience. Previously with The Evening Post Publishing Company and McClatchy, he has served in leadership roles in advertising sales, technology, product development and corporate business development. He is also the COO of Digital Services for Community Health, the health plan communications and technology division of Community Media Group Management Services.
